Maintenance Day photos!

This Saturday, we had our semi-annual Letterpress Maintenance Day. Thanks so much to all the volunteers who chipped in to help whip the presses and the studio into shape:

Maintenance Day!

In light of my post yesterday.... It's time for another maintenance day!

Saturday July 2, 10am - 2pm

To Do List:

• Tackle the gripper bar on the 4T (schematic above)
• Clean off another layer of grime and funk
• Assemble the 4T's lockup bar with replacement parts
• Organize the studio
• Sort type

As always, volunteers will be rewarded with volunteer hours (to exchange for free studio time) and pizza!

It's hard to believe that with all the hours and elbow grease we put in today, the presses could still use a lot more! We hope to have another maintenance day in six months or so to really get these guys in tip-top shape. Melanie, Leslie and I hope to see you at the next one!

Maintenance Day!

We are planning a press and studio maintenance day for this coming Saturday, January 22 from noon-4pm. We would love for you to join us! Please email us at letterpress@pyramid-atlantic.org if you plan on coming.

A to-do list for Saturday:

-Fix the lockup bar on the Vandercook 4T (using this diagram above!)

-Fix the grippers on the Vandercook Universal
-Clean all the surfaces on the Vandercooks so that they run more smoothly
-Adjust the alignment on the C&P press
-Sort through and distribute some new typefaces into drawers
-Sort through the scrap bins
-Organize the studio space
