Going, going, gone!

We sold out the remaining copies of the 2012 Letterpress Calendar at this weekend's Make & Take event! Thanks again to all the wonderful  volunteers who contributed their design talent and time to make this year's calendar. And thanks to everyone who purchased a calendar for supporting this awesome collaborative fundraiser project. I'm looking forward to the 2013 calendar!

Note: For those of you who didn't place your order in time, there might be a handful of copies still available at ArtSpring. I will update this post when I hear back on the actual number. If you're interested in being notified when our 2013 calendar is available, please let me know and I'll add you to the list.

Letterpress Calendar Press!

To get our calendar a little more exposure, I posted it on Etsy. Looks like we've got a fan! Rebecca featured our calendar on her site Florence Finds as part of her holiday gift guide (pictured above).

We're also proud to be featured in Paper Crave's and Oh So Beautiful Paper's 2012 calendar round ups and in blog posts on All Things Aimee and Fifi Cheek!

If you haven't already gotten yours, get moving! The calendars will be available at Saturday's Make & Take event and online at Pyramid's sales page.

Whitney's done a nice blog post documenting the lesson over on her blog, Throwing Cake. Love how excited and enthusiastic she is! I can't wait to see them both back in the studio!

Type Truck Visit

Here are some photos from the Pyramid-sponsored Type Truck stop earlier this month!

The truck parked just south of Dupont Circle on 19th Street NW (special thanks to Miranda for volunteering to take care of the permit application):

Truck owner, Kyle, talking with one of our visitors:

Leslie admires the map showing where the truck's been so far:

And a photo of Kyle's tour poster in its new home at Pyramid:

The event was a lot of fun. We wish Kyle a lot of luck on the rest of her tour and hope to see her again soon!

Erika came by to set type for her second color on these cards:
The second color is going to say "You're so sweet" underneath this list of sugars. Love it!

Pyramid Letterpress at Crafty Bastards!

Just thought I'd share some photos from the Pyramid Atlantic booth at Crafty Bastards earlier this month. We had a letterpress demo going on the little Vandercook 0 proofing press. Volunteers Sarah Hanks, Lauren Emeritz, Molly Moran and Erin Brophy helped fairgoers print on the little guy.

Here's a photo of Molly and Erin doing just that:

And here's a photo taken by Molly of a completed print:

2012 Calendar Sneak Peek #2!

Another look at the 2012 calendar pages that are coming off the press! (See the first Sneak Peek here!)

Morgan wins the prize for being the first one with all her pages completed:
The clouds turned out beautifully!

Here's a shot of the front and back cover (by Kathryn Hoeppel and Sarah Hanks, respectively) after the first run.

These two smart ladies teamed up to print their pages together so they could use the same colors (and cut their clean up duties in half)!

Happy Hour 10.05.11

Photos from this week's Happy Hour!

Here's Lauren helping Happy Hour first-timer Jane with getting ready to hand-ink. Jane came to get in some practice printing with photopolymer because she hopes to be able to do her wedding invitations soon.

And here's what Lauren was working on herself. She decided to print a second color over her birthday cards from last time.

The fonts she was using didn't have enough p's for all her "happy"s so she got creative and started using upside down d's! Love the effect... looks like the p's are dancing!

Erika also came by to set some type for note cards for friends. She's got a great system going of spending one happy hour setting type and then printing at the next one!

Hope to see you next time!
